Bio

Born in Sardegna and raised in the hardcore punk scene, Giuseppe Garau started as a director of short films and documentaries.

Obsessed with film grammar, his debut narrative feature “L’Incidente” won Grand Jury Prize at Slamdance 2024 and has been presented in Italy at Cinema Modernissimo by Cineteca di Bologna.

“L’Incidente” is distributed in Italy by Flickmates.

In 2024 he’s been a juror for Directors Notes Awards in London, in 2025 he served as President of Jury at the National Competition of Molodist Kyiv International Film Festival and he’s currently part of the programming team for OSCAR/BAFTA qualifying Narrative Shorts category at Slamdance.

He’s writing his second narrative feature film, developed by Kino Produzioni.
